Rachmaninoff Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini
Soloist: Jennifer Hou
Koehne Song of the Open Road
Franck Symphony in D minor
Winner of the 2017 102.5 Fine Music Young Virtuoso award, Jennifer Hou will perform Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody with the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra. This piece is a much loved concert favourite, with its virtuosic brilliance and rich themes.

The Franck Symphony in D Minor is another wonderful work. Written towards the end of the composer's life, it merges the rich Germanic orchestral sound with the cyclic forms of French composition, yielding a sonorous and deep sound that envelops the audience.

The concert also features Australian composer Graeme Koehne's 'Song of the Open Road'; an uplifting, accessible piece commissioned by the MYO for their 50th anniversary in its Sydney premier.
